Custom Acoustic Treatment for Video Room

Project Overview

DECIBEL improved the acoustics and design of a video, podcast, and meeting room for a Sofia-based client. The project focused on creating a functional yet visually appealing space, with the unique curved architecture of the room acting as a focal point. The solution combined acoustic performance with a custom design that aligned with the client’s brand identity, ensuring both practical and aesthetic needs were met.

Challenge

The room’s unconventional curved shape posed a challenge in crafting seamless acoustic solutions that integrated into the architecture. Additionally, the client requested brand-specific colours for the panels, requiring meticulous on-site adjustments and multiple painting sessions.

Manufacturing oversized PET felt panels with slatted grooves added another layer of complexity, as the raw materials and machinery had to be carefully adapted for the custom design.

• Conducting an on-site consultation and acoustic assessment.

Solution

DECIBEL created a tailored acoustic environment by combining BEELIVE textile panels for optimal sound absorption and custom PET felt panels to enhance the room’s curved design. These panels were engineered to deliver superior acoustic performance while doubling as striking visual elements.

The PET felt panels were designed with slatted grooves to add texture and depth, seamlessly blending with the room’s unique shape. Multiple painting sessions ensured the panels matched the client’s precise branding requirements, resulting in a polished and cohesive look.
